After several major releases in July, August will also bring the theater an assortment of titles that offer something for everyone. Many genres are covered in this month’s offerings, including action, horror, thriller, and fantasy. 

In addition, the titles will feature many of the most well-known actors in the industry, such as Brad Pitt and Idris Elba, Tilda Swinton, and Diane Keaton.

Bullet Train, Beast, and more movies are set to arrive this August in theatres.

Bullet Train 

Date Of Release: August 5, 2022

It is an action comedy thriller by Sony and is now available. The film’s ensemble cast includes Brad Pitt, Joey King, Sandra Bullock, and Bad Bunny. Michael Shannon, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Michael Tyree Henry are also featured. Bullet Train will be directed by David Leitch, a veteran of the industry and co-director of John Wick. It promises to deliver some exciting action sequences.

Ladybug is an assassin who is tired of his job. So he is sent on his last assignment to Tokyo to retrieve his briefcase from Japan’s fastest-moving bullet trains. The fun part is that assassins surround Ladybug from around the globe with similar assignments to his.

Bullet Train promises 2 hours of action-packed entertainment. This high-octane ride will be available in cinemas starting August 5, 2022.

Mack and Rita

Date Of Release: August 12, 20,22

Mack & Rita are comedy dramas directed by Katie Aselton. Madeline Walter and Paul Welsh wrote the screenplay. Starring Diane Keaton as Elizabeth Lail’s older version, the movie also stars Taylour Paige and Dustin Milligan. Simon Rex is also in the film.

Mack and Rita follow the story of Mack Martin, a 30-year-old woman who believes she is more mature than her age. She becomes an older woman when she goes to Carla, her best friend’s bachelorette events. She lives the life that she believed she deserved.


Date Of Release: August 19, 20,22

Beast, a survival thriller film directed by Baltasar Koramakur, stars Idris Elba as the main character. Jaime Sullivan’s story is gaining momentum thanks to Elba’s charismatic presence and the thrill of watching a man vs. nature battle, as seen in the trailer.

Beast is a story about Dr. Nate Samuels, a recently widowed man who travels to South Africa with his family. This is where he met his wife for the first time. In the hopes of reconnecting with his daughters, he has returned to South Africa with his family. But what awaits them isn’t a healing journey through the savanna but a desperate fight against death.

After surviving poachers, he hunts them down. However, the lion, which is not typical of natural predators, has gone on a killing spree and does not need to hunt. He has now set his sights on the Samuels family.


Date Of Release: August 31, 2022

Viewers hailed Barbarian at the San Diego Comic-Con early screening. Barbarian is Zack Cregger’s creation of Miss March (2007) and Wrecked (2016-2018). Barbarian will differ from his other upbeat projects, but it is expected to have some humor still.

Tess is the film’s unfortunate protagonist. She has booked an Airbnb in Detroit for her stay. Unfortunately, when she gets to the address, she discovers that the Airbnb is being rented by someone else.

She decides to stay for the night against her better judgment, only to discover something sinister in the house and that an unknown guest is living there. The barbarian horror film isn’t your average horror movie. Instead, it makes you laugh, cry, and gasp through its 100-minute runtime.

Three Thousand Years of Longing 

Date Of Release: August 31, 2022

Three thousand years of longing for August’s entry in the fantasy story genre. Tilda Swinton plays the lead role in this film, yet another Idris Elba movie. George Miller, a renowned filmmaker, directed the film. He adapted a short story from A. S. Byatt, The Djinn In the Nightingale’s Eye.

The film is about Tilda Swinton as Alithea Bonny, a rational scholar who purchases a souvenir at the Istanbul market while on a trip to Istanbul. Unfortunately, when she returns to her hotel, she discovers her souvenir is a djinn. Alithea rejects the offer of the djinn to grant her three wishes. However, Alithea is opposed to the many stories that caution against taking advantage of his offers.

The film centers around their conversations and exchanges as Alithea decides how she wants to use her wishes. They are taken by surprise when she realizes what she wants for them.
