I think that if we really want to make it big and successful we have to do two things. One, we have to take the self-talk that we use every day and turn it around. We have to realize we are the center of our universe and that we are not alone. We have to believe we are the most important person that we know. Then, in order to achieve our goals we can think more clearly about what we need to do to accomplish them.
To achieve your goals, you have to think clearly, do things that are a little bit more difficult, and take more risks that are out of your comfort zone. That’s why we have to be careful about the words we use when talking about self-awareness.
Self-awareness is the ability to see the bigger picture, take the big steps, and not let fear or the past hold you back. If you don’t put it in perspective, you can easily get lost in your thoughts, and often, end up doing things that you later regret. The concept of self-awareness is often misunderstood, and there is an assumption that we don’t ever need to think about what we are doing. But that is not the case.
Self-awareness does have some practical implications. It can mean that we are aware of our current state, and how that affects our future actions. For instance, if you are drunk right now, you might be able to see it as a sign that you should stay in the store longer, even if you know you shouldn’t. But if you are just looking at your phone, it might be a sign that you should get out of the store too.
The point is that self-awareness is a part of our daily lives. It’s not something we just have to figure out. When we are aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then our actions and routines become our own. This is why we are so often able to predict the future. But if we don’t have knowledge of how our actions and routines affect our future actions, then we don’t know when to act.
